We do understand that our influential summer residents add, shall we say, a certain way of tending to business. Through the grapevine, and one particular island, where development pressure rears its head, some summer folk apparently weren’t in favor of what was planned. So a dinner was held over the course of the winter in a certain big city, and the developers were invited and subsequently informed that there would be no admittance to yacht clubs and golf clubs. Bada bing. Furthermore, other new and lucky inductees to certain clubs were instructed to buy up adjacent properties. Which they apparently did.
